I reviewed some photo sharing sites in previous posts, and I would like to let you know about some other ones that I have found. One of the newest sites I have found is dotphoto.com, and you can see for yourself what they have to offer here.
They offer free membership, 30 FREE 4 x 6 prints when you sign up, free software for uploading photos, photo websites, unique photo gifts and books, and you can even sell your photos through them.
With Webshots, you can create an online album of your photos, and upload pictures to the site for free with their free webshots photo software. You can also choose whether or not to allow your photos to be downloaded and shared by others. And you can send any photo on the Webshots site as an ecard.
Funtigo is another site that is a little different from the previous two that I mentioned. You can create a digitial photo scrapbook online with Funtigo. They don’t just host photos, like some other sites, but allow you to be creative and add pictures to a web page.
I didn’t know what Funtigo was like, so I signed up (FREE) and uploaded some photos. I found that the upload was pretty slow, but to be fair I was sending some large files. Once the files were uploaded, I selected a theme and background for my page. You can also create a new album or just add to an existing one, as well as create a new page. My album is here.
You can easily resize photos by using the little arrows in the lower right of the pictures, and move the entire photo around the page with the hand icon. If you need to rotate a photo, just click on the arrow next to the hand, and the pencil icon will allow you to edit the picture properties.
I found this very useful since you can click a box to disable the right click button, so people can’t just copy your picture from the site. Also, you can set one of your own pictures as the page background, or make the picture a hyperlink.
All of the items (text, photos, …etc.) on your pages can be easily moved and arranged using the little hand icons on each item, in the page editor window. Once they are moved to where you want them, they are apparently saved automatically. I really liked how easy it was to arrange the pictures and text on the page.
If you would like to have your own photo site that is easy to create and arrange, check out Funtigo. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised…
