More Places to Find Money

find money Who couldn’t use a little found money? The next time you are out on a walk, out shopping, or just out on an errand, look around. You may just find some spare change or even a $20 bill if you keep your eyes open.

Previously, I talked about two great places to hunt up some money. Now, let us continue with some more ideas for places to find money. If you missed the previous article, click here: Where to Find Money.

3. Coin counters. Do you know those coin machines that you can usually find in supermarkets? CoinStar is the name of one type of coin counting machine. People throw their loose change into the machine. The machine then sorts and counts it and prints out a receipt. The receipt can then be taken up to a cashier and exchanged for cash or used toward the grocery bill. A percentage of the money inserted is kept by the company behind the coin counting machine as a fee.

Hello! Any time you have distracted people pouring large amounts of change in a machine means that some of it will not make it. Some of the coins wind up in the return slot because they have been rejected for one reason or another, while other coins sit at the top because they didn’t go all of the way in. Sometimes people forget to take their receipts from the machine. I saw one couple find a $55 receipt one time. It took them all of five minutes to find it and cash it in, which means they made $660 an hour at that moment, if you break it down as earnings. Of course that couple got lucky, but think of all of the people who must have passed the machine without getting the money. Checking one of these machines can be a fun adventure for a kid, too.
