Who says you have to mortgage your home to afford a girls-only weekend in New York City? You can save a bundle by taking advantage of the creative deals some Big Apple lodgings are offering female guests. The following bargains allow you to live large with your gal pals in the city that never sleeps. Take a look:
SEX AND THE CITY PACKAGE
The Muse in New York’s Time Square is joining dozens of other Big Apple lodgings to offer a deal inspired by this summer’s massive “Sex and the City” movie launch. In honor of the film’s fabulous four, female guests can book the “Sex and the City” Suite package and receive a spa suite or a private balcony suite for one night (with free Wi-Fi, an iPod docking station, lighted makeup mirrors, and complimentary newspapers), two Cosmopolitans, and a personal driver for a two-hour tour of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha’s favorite NYC haunts, including Magnolia Bakery and Jimmy Choo. (A concierge will help you customize your tour.) In addition, you’ll receive one-hour in-room massages for two, a supply of hair care products, breakfast in bed daily, and a gift that depends on which “Sex and the City” character you most identify with: a one-year subscription to Vogue, if you’re a Carrie; a copy of “How to Marry a Multi-Millionaire”, if you’re a Charlotte; a stock of Dirty Girl bath products, if you’re a Samantha; and Suze Orman’s “Women & Money”, if you’re a Miranda. Rates start at $475 per person per night. That’s quite a discount when you consider that the included private driver alone is worth $195 and that a spa suite normally costs $340 per person per night. The offer is good through December 31, 2008.
LIVE LIKE “GOSSIP GIRL” PACKAGE
It’s not all about the girls from “Sex and the City.” The Franklin Hotel has created an incredible and affordable tribute to TV’s “Gossip Girl.” You can celebrate the crew from the hit series by registering for the Live Like “Gossip Girl” package, which includes two nights in a king room, breakfast daily, a $100 gift certificates to Henri Bendel and the Mansfield Hotel’s M Bar (one each per booking), and admission for two to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You’ll also be treated to luxury car service for one hour and a “Gossip Girl” guide of New York City. The Franklin is located near Serena’s stomping grounds-—the Upper East Side—-and a short walk from Central Park and Madison Avenue. Rates start at $500 per room per night, or $1,000 for the required two-night stay. The offer expires on October 31, 2008.
