Mother’s Day Romance

You may not think Mother’s Day is a day for romance, but I actually think it’s a fantastic opportunity for Dad’s everywhere to appreciate their wives. Celebrating our mothers or being celebrated for our motherhood is wonderful, but being remembered as wives and women is a lot sexier.

Mothers are Women

Every mother is a woman. She was once a little girl, she became a teenager a young woman and she even became a blushing bride. When she became a mother and a wife, she never stopped being a woman. It may surprise some men to hear this, but even though we haven’t stopped being women – sometimes we forget that we are too.

We spend so much time running our kids around to baseball games, dance classes, gymnastics, playdates and more. We get up early, we go to bed late. We mow lawns. We do laundry. We cook. We do the dishes and yes, we even clean up after the animals. At the end of any given day, we may forget that we used to be women and we used to want to be pretty and look good.

Loving Her; Loving All of Her

You can do the breakfast in bed for mom, you can help the kids create their crazy crafts; you can even don the maid’s apron and clean the house from top to bottom (my husband did this last year and let me tell you what a thrill that was). He made breakfast, he cleaned the house spotlessly, and he sent me out for some pampering with a pedicure and a manicure.

That evening, he continued the celebration by taking me out to dinner without the kiddo and it was a romantic dinner just for the two of us where we could sit and talk as adults do. It was a night to dress up and feel pretty and it was wonderful. So gentlemen, don’t forget that your wife and the mother of your children is a woman and let Mother’s Day be a wonderful opportunity for you to demonstrate that to her.
