Once you start looking for bloopers in the movies you watch, you can’t stop! I have always been one to find holes in the logic of scripts (I drive my family crazy sometimes), but it helps to have a cheat sheet for visual bloopers, prepared by film aficionados armed with stop-action and super slow motion technology.
I’ve metioned a few sites before, by another good one for movie bloopers is at ginca.com/bloopers. Not all the movies that have bloopers listed here are family-friendly, but they do an especially good job for the Harry Potter movies.
Here are some bloopers to look for in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
When Harry is in the hospital to regrow the bones in his arm after his accident, he jumps on the bed when he hears someone coming and doesn’t move. But then he is suddenly covered with a blanket!
When Lockhart falls down the hole into the Chamber of Secrets, he hits the ground with a thud pretty quick. When Ron and Harry go down, they take a lot longer and slide down in a pipe, rather than fall straight down.
There’s apparently been a change we didn’t know about — Susan Bones is sorted into Hufflepuff in the first Harry Potter film. In the Chamber of Secrets, Susan is a Griffyndor. She is in classes with Harry and pals, and has the Griffyndor outfit on.
Dobby shows Harry his bandaged hands in the infirmary. A few shots later the bandages are gone, but in the next shot they are back.
Emma Watson, who plays Hermione, broke her wrist during filming. The producers did a great job hiding her cast, except in one scene, when Harry, Ron, and Hermione are drinking the polyjuice potion. Look closely and you can see the cast on Emma’s wrist sticking out of her robes.
After Ron receives his howler from the owl, the owl flies close to Hermione’s head. Look for the wire that is attached to the owl.
