Sometimes it can be a challenge to find a movie you’ll really enjoy. Let’s take a look back at last week and see if our movie reviews will help narrow the field a little bit.
We started the week out with a look at “The Magic School Bus: Bugs, Bugs, Bugs.” A blend of education and entertainment, this DVD will teach your children about bees, ants, and butterflies in a fun way.
“Definitely, Maybe” is the story of a recently-divorced man who is faced with some challenging questions when his daughter learns about sex in school. She wants to know if she was conceived in love, and if so, why are her parents now divorced? This movie does contain some language as the children learn about procreation, but the overall message of the movie is positive.
“Baby Boom” is the story of a high-powered career woman who suddenly finds her life completely turned upside-down when she receives an unusual inheritance—a baby. Deciding to place the child for adoption, by the time the paperwork comes through, she’d changed her mind as the baby has taken a place in her heart.
“Baby Geniuses” is the story of a scientist who has been studying infant development and turned it into a multi-million dollar venture. When her greed overcomes her desire to see to the best good of the babies, they rebel and overthrow her evil scheme.
Next we reviewed the latest in the “Go Diego Go!” lineup, “Great Gorilla.” We see Diego travel to Africa to help find a baby gorilla, to Egypt to help the camels get water, and Dora visits long enough to help Lonely Louie, a giant tortoise, find the love of his life.
We ended the week with “Madeline,” a well-done movie starring our favorite picture book heroine in a story of derring-do and adventure that combines the plots of several of the original picture books into one film.
We hope you enjoyed this look back at the week, and that you’ll join us again soon here in Movie Reviews.
