After being awake for over eighteen hours, you’d think I’d sleep long and late into the morning. Not so. Bright and early at 5:30 in the morning I’m awake. I guess I still have a lot of adrenaline left to finish the move. I wait half an hour to wake up anyone else. 6AM seems a lot less harsh than 5:30AM for some reason although it’s still ridiculously early. My sisters don’t seem to mind and I get them to make more seven grain pancakes and scrambled eggs. I have a lot of work to do today and I have to keep the nausea under control if I’m going to be able to get anything done. I am officially 11 weeks and all I can really think about is when this morning sickness goes away!
Since yesterday was such a trying and difficult day, we take our time eating breakfast and chatting with my family. It’s so nice to enjoy the cooler weather up north. The trees and plants are so vibrant and fragrant. This is nothing like our southern home. We are very much looking forward to calling our old home, home again.
Around 9:30AM, my husband gets back into the truck and I get our son and one of my brothers in the car. My dad follows with my mom and youngest sister, while two more sisters and my other brother follow in their own cars.
When we arrive at our new home, we are excited to see what the space looks like since we haven’t seen any pictures of the inside yet. It’s bigger than I expected and we where both extremely happy to have a basement for the first time in five years.
Soon my husband’s dad and two brothers also arrive to help us empty the truck. I place my self near the front door to help direct people to the right “home” for each item. In a little over an hour the entire truck is empty thanks to our wonderfully helpful families! Now we just have to unpack!
