I’ve been taking long power walks in the morning a lot. In fact, I’ll be blogging about my exercise adventures soon in the Weight Loss blog. But, that is coming later. The point is that when I arrived back at the house, I has just a few minutes to shower and throw on some clothing before we all headed to church.
Fortunately, for me, I have plenty of neutral pieces (meaning I don’t have to think too hard about assembling an outfit) that can be thrown together quickly. After church, however, I wanted to change into something a little more fun. I confess that I was a little bored with my normal clothes.
I got to spend a little time going through my closet and found a couple of things that I had just recently picked up in Lancaster. A fitted stretch Eddie Bauer top in butter yellow. It has an interesting neckline and some button detail. I paired this with a jean skirt that was just the right length, a scant few inches above the knee. I’ve been seeing jean skirts of this length come back in style recently. Perhaps this can be contributed in part by all of the jean skirts warn by Kate Gosselin, of “Plus Eight” and tabloid fame. I don’t know, but I’ve been seeing similar skirts in the stores.
The outfit looked pretty good. The top and the skirt combined nicely to show off my waist and brighten up my face. I had a winner. Of course, you might have figured it out from the title of this blog post, but the outfit cost me a whopping $1.50 total. I added in some soft flip flops I got a couple of years ago for just a few dollars, and of course I am not including underwear, so maybe I am cheating on the cost. But the top and the skirt each only cost 75 cents. They were purchased at the Goodwill Outlet store that you may have read about in some previous posts. I got several compliments today, and I just had to smile to myself and pat myself of the back a bit.
