My Favorite After Halloween Haunts

There is only one more day to Halloween, and I already have plans for the after Halloween sales and discounts. Starting November first, we are going to hit up our favorite places, in order to get the deep deals. Here are the main places that we will be visiting for some frugal Halloween shopping.

Grocery Store

There are plenty of goodies at the grocery store after Halloween. Beside all of that candy (freeze it or use it in holiday baking), you can find everything from costumes to decorations as well. Check the seasonal aisle and the clearance aisle for the best finds. One year I scored 10 full-size candy bars for only $1 total. Another year, I bought three Halloween costumes for the following year at less than $3 each.

Halloween Stores

Do you know those Halloween speciality stores that show up in September? They rent some space for a short period of time and then close down after the season ends. Well, before they move on, they want to move all of the merchandise that didn’t sell. This means that everything will be marked 50 to 70 percent off of the original before Halloween prices.

If you are looking for anything specific, especially adult costumes, you’ll have a good chance of finding it here. Think ahead for next year.

Homegoods

This is my favorite stop for Halloween costumes. They have good quality costumes for unbelievable clearance prices, if you look around. Last year, I got two brand new plush costumes for only $4 a piece. That is much less than I could ever hope to get them used. The costumes were so thick and well made.
This year, I’m going to take a look at their other Halloween items as well. I was so excited about the costumes that I didn’t explore anything else.
