At year’s end, I like to look back at the deals I have done and see what savings I’ve achieved. I really liked the ones for Hunts, Keebler and Nabisco products, where you buy a certain amount and get $10 back. There was one that was store specific to Publix, which I could do several times for $10 gift cards. Then there are the ones that keep going….
My favorite kind of deal is the type which keeps on going, either through a program, or continuous credits such as Extra Care Bucks, or Register Rewards. I also got quite a bit of mileage out of My Coke Rewards, and MyPoints.
The best was getting a $50 Restaurant.com gift certificate for a restaurant in the New Orleans French Quarter from My Coke Rewards. I applied it toward a bill that was in excess of $100 for a group of friends. When one of the gentlemen “fought” for the check and won, I was able to give him the voucher. That was a great moment!
I’ve also received approximately $75 worth of free coke this year from My Coke Rewards.
By using the coupons.com and smartsource coupons downloaded from MyPoints, I get reward points which I can apply toward gift cards. I usually redeem these for CVS gift cards, which I use to pay for prescriptions or buy stuff to get more ECBS! Of course, getting rewarded to use coupons as well as matching them up to store savings is a real bonus. If I use them at CVS for ECBs, or at Walgreens for Register Rewards, I am getting extra rewards! And of course, paying for those purchases with a cash back debit or credit card helps too!(As long as you pay it on time every month)
This year’s matchups of coupons.com and Target store coupons were really a hit with me. This was especially good at Christmastime. I saved a ton of money on DVD presents and toys for younger children.
I’m really looking forward this year to finding out if KMart will continue to double coupons occasionally, and to matching coupons with buy one get one free deals and store coupons. I live in the land of no doubles, but plenty of Walmarts, so it is really important for me to stockpile deals when they happen.
