My Favorite Pregnancy Book

Maybe it is not anymore, but when I was pregnant, it seemed like “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” was the most popular pregnancy book out there. I wasn’t a big fan though. There were lots of questions in that book that they answered that did not apply to me. Although, there was a lot of helpful information, the format of the book did not work for me. I wanted a little more detail about how my baby was growing, along with answers to every pregnant mom’s questions.

So, with my second I went looking for another book, and found one that I really like. It is called, Your Pregnancy Week by Week.

The thing I loved about this book was that it broke my pregnancy down into weeks. Each week, the book discusses what is happening to you as a pregnant mom, and what is happening inside the womb with baby. It also has helpful tips for the week, and exercises you can do. It also brings up common issues or concerns that typically get addressed during that particular week of pregnancy.

In addition, I just liked the format. There were tips in there for Dads, and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen the next week. It seemed like this book helped me to stay focused on something during those long weeks of pregnancy rather than thinking, “When is baby going to get here?”

To me, this book was all about how it is laid out. Giving a pregnant women something to focus on each week is a great thing! What to Expect was set up by trimester, addressing a myriad of topics. While I still kept that book around for handy reference, Your Pregnancy Week by Week was something that my husband and I could sit down each week and read together. He enjoyed listening to what the baby was up to, and what I was up to also!

I highly recommend this pregnancy book to any first time moms or tenth time moms out there.
