Does your health insurance company send you helpful little newsletters? Mine does. This time, the newsletter included information about a weight loss app. Health insurance companies have an intrinsic interest in helping their customers be as healthy as possible.
My health insurance company sends me newsletters from time to time. The purpose of the newsletters is so the insurer can send customers information and advice that they can use to improve their health and to stay healthy.
Insurance companies have an intrinsic interest in helping their customers to have good health. People who are healthy don’t need to visit a doctor as often as people who have serious health conditions. Healthy people do not require several expensive prescription medications. In short, my insurer hopes I will take the advice in the newsletter and end up with less insurance claims and less medical bills that they have to cover.
This time, one of the articles in the newsletter mentioned an app. I’m pretty sure this is the first app that my insurance company has specifically recommended. The article in the newsletter was called “A new iPhone app can help you stay active and motivated”.
The app is called MyTrainerBob and it was created by Bob Harper Enterprises. It is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad. It requires iOS 5.0 or later. Sorry, Android users, there doesn’t appear to be an Android version of this app.
You can download the app for free, (but the free version does not give you the full features of the app). The app has a Health Footprint Calculator, which measures your overall health, as well as the effect your health has on the people in your life. The app also has pre-set workouts, new fitness challenges (that are added each week), tips to keep you motivated, video tutorials, and a weight tracker.
The free version gives you five workouts. If you want to have access to the full 20 workouts, you have to buy a subscription. People who have the subscription will get all of Bob’s signature challenges.
The cool thing about the challenges is that you can do them, and then post it to your Twitter or Facebook pages. Share your progress with your friends, and get some support with your weight loss!
