MyTwin is a great concept. You custom order dolls that match your little girls’ characteristics. So if that black haired, tanned skin, green-eyed doll seems impossible to find, have it made instead. Choose from five different skin tones and nine different hair colors. Then upload a picture of your princess, and they’ll custom paint her eyebrows, cheeks, and lips. Yes, even her freckles or her beauty mark. Then they style the doll’s hair to match the photo.
It’s not cheap. With taxes and shipping, it comes to about $150. However, it’s probably the last doll you will buy. We have known three different families who have done this, and the MyTwin quickly becomes the favorite. The icing on the cake is that outfits are offered in duplicate, one for the child and a matching one for the doll. The dresses run just about what you’d be paying in a department store. The doll apparel is a little pricier. But these are quality items, not likely to wear out quickly.
Right now, they’re clearancing some of the merchandise. It’s up to 85% off. Shipping starts at $4.95, so make sure to add that in to your calculations. If you’re not apt to get the doll, the sale is still a great way to build up your daughter’s wardrobe. For instance, there’s a beautiful red sweater on sale from $39 to $5.85 (the matching doll one is $2.40). Add the coordinating black pants with the red rhinestones for only $3.15. Even the clearance rack at Wally World is more than $3.15. T-shirts start at $2.85. There’s a beautiful long-sleeved flag t perfect for the 4th of July for just $3.15. The big deal for me is bathing suits. They’re $4.35. These are racerback suits with a classic (not high) cut for the legs. Just in time for summer.
As always with clearance sales, quantities are limited. Not all sizes are available for each item. The faster you get there, the better the selection.
