Nanny Cam for the Single Parent

Single parents have a unique responsibility in many instances of finding excellent childcare but for many, a tight budget makes it difficult to go with the top of the line. For this reason, we see the number of single parent households turning to the services of a younger babysitter or less experienced daycare provider. As you an imagine, the thought of turning your child’s care over to anyone is hard enough but when your options are limited due to financial strain, it puts tremendous stress on you.

For this reason, we see a growing number of single parents using what is called a “nanny cam”, which is simply a small, hidden camera that watches the daily care given to your child. Depending on the type of nanny cam you choose, some have audio, some video, and some both. These small cameras are actually very affordable and can be easily hidden in plants, clock radios, stuffed animals, tissue boxes, kitchen appliances, and more.

You will even find some nanny cams designed with accompanying software that can be linked to your work computer. With this, you would have the ability to see what your daycare provider and child is doing in real-time, anytime. Typically, these camera and software systems are a little more expensive but a worthwhile investment. Of course, you would also need approval by the company you work for to use it.

One of the most popular types of nanny cam is a camera, clock, and fully functioning radio so detection is near impossible. For this, you would plug the nanny cam in and even if the radio is turned off, the camera continues running. Best of all, this nanny cam is so normal looking that your daycare provider would never suspect a thing, even if the clock radio were examined closely.

This wireless clock radio is highly versatile, being able to move wherever you want to place it. If you prefer, you could purchase more than one, placing one in the family room, child’s bedroom or nursery, kitchen, and so on. Designed with a CCD Sony camera, the image projected is extremely clear.

No single parent or any parent for that matter wants to feel as though they are “spying” on their daycare provider but unfortunately, things do and have happened. Therefore, you owe it to your child, as well as your own peace of mind to consider a nanny cam, especially if your budget does not afford a high-end daycare service.
