Need Help Finding Your Italian Family Tree?

Italy One of the problems that a genealogist can run into is a language barrier. If your ancestors are from a country that speaks a language that you do not understand, this can make your genealogy research considerably more complex. When this happens, you might consider hiring the services of a professional genealogist who is fluent in the language you cannot comprehend.

Those of you who are on Facebook are undoubtedly familiar with those little ads that appear at the side of the page. It is rather amazing, sometimes, what Facebook thinks that I would be interested in buying, joining, hearing more about, or sending money to. Sometimes, it picks appropriate ads to pitch at me, and other times… I really wonder what on earth it was “thinking” when it selected certain ads.

There was an ad that caught my eye recently. It was for a website called Professional Italian Genealogy Research. If your family came from Italy, and you are having difficulty locating vital records from that country, or reading genealogy related documents that are written in Italian, you might need the help of a professional genealogist. Carolyn B. Ugolini, AG, provides this type of help for her clients.

It can be extremely helpful for an amateur genealogist to hire the services of a professional genealogist from time to time. If you have hit the dreaded “brick wall” with your research, and are tired of being frustrated with it, that is the perfect time to hire a professional genealogist. Let someone else, who is very knowledgable in genealogy, work on that bit of your research for you.

If your ancestors had Italian surnames, and they immigrated from Italy to the United States, you might be struggling to find the important records for these ancestors. Things can be especially hard if the resources you are trying to search through are written in Italian, and you don’t happen to speak that language.

When this happens, it might be best to hire a professional genealogist who is fluent in Italian. Carolyn B. Ugolini AG, for example, lived in Italy for thirteen years, and can read, speak, and write Italian fluently. Genealogists who are trying to track down records that are in Italian, and located in Italy, will need to hire a professional genealogist who has an excellent understanding of Italian. Not every professional genealogist has can do that, so be sure to specifically ask about that before hiring someone.
