You are in the middle of a recipe and you find that you are missing a certain convenience ingredient, such as taco seasoning or pasta sauce. Not to worry, you can make it faster than you can take a trip to the store and back.
There is always something satisfying knowing that you can find a solution right there in your own kitchen. Look around. You may already have everything that you need.
My first need it fast solution is for jarred pasta sauce. How often during the week do we need jarred pasta sauce? I seem to be constantly going to the pantry to fetch it. You can use your homemade version in practically any recipe.
It is fast to create and may even save you a few pennies at the grocery store. You can alter the sauce any way that you like, adding canned mushrooms, for example. Add a little bit of sugar to the sauce and puree the tomatoes first, to turn the pasta sauce into a kid pleasing pizza sauce that can be used on traditional pizza dough or even bagels or english muffins, or as a dip for bread sticks or mozzarella sticks.
