Need it Fast Solutions: Taco Seasoning Packet

homemade taco seasoning Anyone who has ever prepared a meal has found themselves starting to cook and then realizing that they were out one needed ingredient. You search the pantry, sure that you had one more of whatever it was left. Instead you are faced with having to drop everything and go to the store or scrapping the meal and creating something else.

There is one other option. Turn to one of these need it fast solutions to get you back on track. It will be easy and take less time that running to the store and back. You may even save a few cents or dollars here and there, as these homemade versions generally cost less to make than the ones you would buy in the store already prepared.

Today, I have a homemade taco seasoning packet to share.

Taco Seasoning Packet

Ingredients:

4 tsp chili powder

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp ground cumin

2 tsp paprika

2 tsp oregano

1 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

Mix all of the ingredients together. You can use as much or as little as you like to taste. I usually use less taco seasoning for the kids. The general guideline is about 2 tbsp per every 1 pound of meat. This seasoning can be used for ground beef, ground turkey or ground chicken, as you like. You simply add it and some water to the meat that you are cooking.

Make sure to store an extra taco seasoning that you have in an air tight container.

You can prepare this seasoning in bulk so it will always be available when needed. This homemade seasoning also makes a nice gift in a jar. Include it in a “taco” or Mexican theme basket with tortilla shells, taco holders, a jar of salsa, lots of colorful paper napkins and more.
