Although New Hope, Pennsylvania is spectacular in the fall with ever-changing colors of leaves, this is a charming town anytime of the year. Many people go to New England to get away from the craziness of everyday life and while there are many, different types of accommodations to consider, I wanted to recommend a place I visited years ago – Cordials Bed and Breakfast.
What makes this particular place so wonderful is the central location that still provides the hospitality and charm expected. For instance, during the day you could easily walk the short distance to the center of town, shopping in a number of antique shops, taking a mule-drawn barge along the Delaware River, riding on the historical train, or relaxing to a wonderful meal in a four-star restaurant. Of course, one of the favorite things we did was participate in wine tasting.
This two and one-half story inn offers six unique rooms, each with a private bath, large queen-sized beds, cable television, air conditioning, and then a deck or balcony providing a great view out over the garden area. All around are various species of birds to enjoy. Then as you make your way downstairs for breakfast, you will be greeted with seasonal fruit and a number of homemade dishes. The entire atmosphere of this bed and breakfast is warm and inviting.
One of the things that make the Cordials Bed and Breakfast different is the environment comprised of beautiful countryside, mountains, a flowing river, and then quaint town. In other words, staying there provides you the best of many worlds depending on what types of things you enjoy. If you prefer, you can stroll along the countryside, just marveling at the magnificent flowers. However, some people are a little more adventurous, taking time to explore the mountain area.
Best of all, the rooms at Cordials Bed and Breakfast are affordable, especially considering everything offered. In addition to the above-mentioned amenities, others include on-site barbecue grill, computer, CD player, copier, internet service, fax, fireplace, hot tub, and even conference rooms. However, in the retreat of your own private room, you would also find a refrigerator, alarm clock, coffee and tea, VCR, and of course, fresh crisp linens on the bed.
