Her bitter split from her husband made headlines and led to her early exit from “Dancing with the Stars,” but now it appears Sara Evans is ready to put the ugliness behind her… thanks to a new man.
The country singer is reportedly dating a “fantastic guy” and friend’s say the 37-year-old mom of three “couldn’t be happier.”
The new man in Evans’ life is Jay Barker, a former football star at the University of Alabama who now hosts a sports radio show in Birmingham, Alabama.
The announcement may not be news to people who listen to Barker’s show, “The Opening Drive.” Evans has been a call-in guest a number of times since last Thanksgiving and Barker has accompanied the singer on some of her tour dates.
According to Evans’ pals, Barker is also recently divorced (though the former athlete’s friends say Sara had “NOTHING to do with Jay’s divorce”). His split was reportedly nothing compared the singer’s acrimonious parting from former husband Craig Schelske, which was riddled with allegations of infidelity, theft and slander.
Evans has found herself a new man and “couldn’t be happier,” but there is another Hollywood celeb who might be able to give her a run for her money in that category.
“Scrubs” star John C. McGinley says he is “over the moon” and “utterly delighted” to be the proud father of a new daughter.
The actor and his wife Nichole welcomed baby Billie Grace on Saturday, according to news reports.
McGinley confirmed his new “princess” weighs 8 lbs. and is 21 inches long. He also told reporters that “Nichole was a mountain lion, a warrior in the birthing process.”
Pals of the new mom, who is an Ashtanga yoga teacher and birthing doula, were not surprised that Nichole chose to deliver Billie Grace in a birthing tub at the couple’s home in Malibu.
McGinley and his wife were married on April 7, 2007. The actor also has a 10-year-old son Max from a previous relationship.
