New Nutrisystem Celebrity

Imagine my surprise when I saw Marie Osmond hawking Nutrisystem in a television commercial yesterday. I knew she had been on Dancing with the Stars and I also knew that she had lost a good deal of weight, but it seems her 40 pound weight loss was due to a combination of the Nutrisystem Program and rigorous Dancing with the Stars workout regimen. Way to go, Marie!

When critics blasted her and said she must be anorexic, Marie set the record straight:

“First of all, I can’t be anorexic. I like food too much. I’m not on diet pills. And I have to tell you, honestly, with Nutrisystem you eat all the time.”

Like many of us, Marie decided around Christmas time that she needed to get control of her weight. Initially, she joined the Choose to Move program.

Choose to Move is a free physical activity program for women and is sponsored by the American Heart Association.

After joining Choose to Move, Marie joined the NutriSystem program.

NutriSystem is a comprehensive weight loss program that incorporates meal delivery with telephone and online counseling. The current price for one month (28 days) of delivered meals is $293.72. That works out to $10.49 per day.

After starting to lose weight on Nutrisystem, she was offered the opportunity to be a celebrity dancer on Dancing with the Stars.
Marie Osmond isn’t the only celebrity dancer who has relied on Nutrisystem to help her lose weight. Joey Fatone lost 20 pounds on Nutrisystem during his Dancing with the Stars stint.

After seeing all the work that those celebrities and dancers put into their performances on Dancing with the Stars, I’m inclined to believe they would work of just about any food they ate but it says something for Nutrisystem that the food they provide can sustain someone on such a rigorous workout routine.

If I could afford the expense, I’d certainly give it a try! I don’t believe there is anything a busy mother with a toddler, newborn and lagging baby weight wants more than healthy meals prepared and delivered to her door. Am I right or am I right?
