Do you need help picking out a new refrigerator? Consider the following new options on refrigerator models that may just suit your needs.
New Stainless Steel
Most everyone loves the look of a stainless steel finish on their appliances, and a stainless steel refrigerator will no doubt add to the value of your kitchen. This finish is usually a few dollars more than the traditional white or black finish, but most homeowners think that it is worth it with just two exceptions.
Stainless steel shows fingerprints easily. Some models have addressed this by offering finger print resistant stainless steel finishes, so you won’t spend all of your time wiping down the doors.
Another general feature of stainless steel refrigerators is that they aren’t magnetic, which means that you can’t stick all sorts of kids drawings, reminder notes, calendars, etc, unless you use tape. But new designs are offering magnetized vinyl finishes that look like stainless steel, so you can get the best of both worlds.
Contour Doors
In our house, space in the refrigerator is at a premium. With three kids, we go through a lot of milk and a lot of food in a week. New refrigerator designs allow for a little more interior space because of contoured or curved doors. It is a nice feature that will allow some extra stuff that you might not have fit in there otherwise, without really increasing the size of the outside of the refrigerator.
Counter Depth Styles
Manufacturers are now offering refrigerators that have the look of a built in model but with much less the cost of something custom. Counter depth models will fit nicely in your kitchen, and there are models available to match your cabinetry. Custom panels can be made, too. There are two general sizes: 69 inches high and 72 inches high. Keep in mind that these models tend to be a little shallow in depth.
