New Uses for Shaving Cream

A while back, I got a great deal on shaving cream. I was able to buy 20 cans of it for 10 cents a piece, using sales and coupons. The only problem, of course, is that my husband uses an electric shaver most of the time.

I reserved one can for my husband for his occasional blade shave, and then I gave five of the cans to my father, who does use shaving cream. I donated ten cans of the shaving cream to a shelter through our church, but that still left me with four cans of shaving cream. I wanted to hold on to those remaining cans because believe it or not, there are a lot of uses for shaving cream.

Did you know, for example, that you can use shaving cream to remove hair spray from walls and mirrors? It doesn’t leave any residue.

You can also use shaving cream to remove stains from your rug. Always test a spot whenever trying a new cleaner or method, but I think you’ll be impressed with the results. Scrub the spot with the shaving cream and rinse it well with water.

By the same token, you can clean upholstery with shaving cream. Use a more delicate touch with this application. Apply a small amount of the shaving creamon the stain and rub at it gently with a damp cloth.

You can use shaving cream to lubricate squeaky hinges if you spray a little bit of shaving cream into the joint.

Did you know that you can make a fun finger paint using shaving cream? Mix a few drops of food coloring with the shaving cream for a lot of little kid fun. You can try this trick in the bathtub, and clean up will be even easier.

Do you have any more uses for shaving cream?
