Microsoft says no Blu-Ray, for the computer user who has everything, AOL buys Bebo

Microsoft says no Blu-Ray

If you own a Microsoft Xbox 360, you are probably disappointed in the fact that the HD DVD format is dead. You’ll won’t be able to use that little aspect of the Xbox 360. There have been rumors around that Microsoft is going to “upgrade” its Xbox 360 systems with Blu-Ray players to support the new, winning, high definition format. Microsoft officially says no way, denying that it has any plans to integrate Blu-Ray into anything, including the Xbox 360. Perhaps the company is feeling a bit embittered by the Blu-Ray HD DVD battle?

For the Computer User Who Has Everything

If you are stuck for what to get the computer geek, um, power user for his or her next birthday, why not try a flash drive that actually has a lot of flash, er bling? The Adamant is a limited edition gold and diamond-encrusted portable flash drive (commonly called a thumb drive) that even includes lapis lazuli deposits. it is all for the mere price of $7,650. And if your gift recipient needs something to go with that thumb drive, how about a gold and diamond PC for $570,00? A platinum model sells for $760,000.

AOL buys Bebo

The social networking site, Bebo, was just snatched up by AOL for $850 million in cash. While there have been rumors floating around the Internet saying that Bebo was up for grabs, the buy out by AOL is seen as unexpected. Bebo was already partnered with AOL’s AIM instant messaging client. With more than 40 million subscribers, Bebo is a popular youth-oriented social network with a huge following in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand.
