Michele and I both have blogged before about the car accident that involved Hulk Hogan’s son Nick and one of his best friends, John Graziano. Nick, who had gotten many speeding tickets before the near fatal car crash, was recently sentenced to 8 months in prison and 3 years probation. John, meanwhile, remains in a hospital bed, where it looks as if he will need constant medical attention for the rest of his life.
Now that Nick, 17, has spent a few weeks in jail, it seems that he regrets his decision to accept the guilty plea and wishes he had taken the case to court. What is worse is that phone recordings between Nick, his mom, and Hulk have been released and boy, are they shocking!
When the family spoke on the phone, they really let it all hang out. The recordings can be heard at CNN. First, Hulk Hogan seemingly accused John of getting himself in this predicament. He said, “Well I don’t know what type of person John was, or what he did to get himself in their situation. I know he was pretty aggressive and yelled at people and do stuff.” He went on to say, “And for some reason God laid some heavy shit on that kid. I don’t know what he was into.” Wow. Under that assumption, that John did something to deserve this, what does the Bollea family deserve for talking this way about a kid who is bedridden?
After hearing Hulk say that God had a reason for doing this to John, Nick replied, “He was a negative person,” then quickly quizzed his father about the possibility of his having a reality show when he got of jail. Nick’s exact words were “Get that lined up so the minute I walk out, wherever I walk out of, it’s there, boom, I’ll make the most money.”
What does John’s family have to say about the recently released tapes? They released a statement that said “These tapes clearly show what the Bolleas said in court was calculated to give the court the impression that Nick deserved a break. John’s mom Debbie added, “If Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan) cared about John Graziano, he wouldn’t be blaming his semi-conscious state and his life-long battle to survive as bad karma.” She went on to say, “These people are the biggest phonies and two-faced individuals that I’ve ever seen.” Got to agree with that statement!
The Bollea family lawyer says he is checking into whether it was legal to have released the phone recordings. Hum, I remember hearing tapes of John Gotti when he was in prison and we have seen plenty of celebrity mug shots (those are public record), so I am pretty sure it is legal, though certainly damaging to the Bollea family. And, I may be wrong, but I think these recordings may have just killed Nick’s chances of a reality show – at least I hope so!
