Maybe she was delirious from the pain of giving birth. Or perhaps she was just deliriously happy.
There’s no real way to know (at least for now) if Nicole Kidman actually thought she gave birth on Sunday or if she simply likes the way the word rolls off her tongue.
Regardless, her new daughter now shares her name with the first day of the week.
Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was officially welcomed into the world Monday morning by her proud parents—-Kidman and country music superstar Keith Urban.
According to reports, baby Sunday weighed in at 6 lbs., 7.5 oz. and is healthy, happy and surrounded by family and friends.
Those of you who saw pictures of Kidman during her last weeks of pregnancy might wonder how it was that she was able to give birth to a 6-pound baby when she didn’t look as though she gained a single pound during her entire gestation period.
No comment from the Oscar-winner’s camp about that one. But Kidman’s rep did share that the 41-year-old actress’ mom Janelle and sister Antonia flew to the Urban’s estate in Nashville, Tennessee from their respective homes in Sydney, Australia two days ago to witness the arrival of baby Sunday. Reports say Antonia, who has four children of her own, and her mother plan to remain in Nashville for the next several days.
Sunday is the first child for country crooner Urban while Kidman has two other children–15-year-old Isabella and 13-year-old Connor–with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
The Academy Award-winner and her Grammy-winning husband just celebrated their second wedding anniversary two weeks ago. The soft-spoken pair announced that they were expecting a baby back in January, but refused to confirm a due date. Kidman kept the press guessing about when her baby would arrive and her minimal weight gain didn’t help celebrity baby watchers pinpoint an exact date.
No matter now. It will be Sunday everyday in the Urban household and what a birthday celebration it will be in 2012 when young Sunday’s birthday finally falls on a Sunday.
