A comment on my last blog and a visit to Courtney’s blog inspired me to think about a notebook of blessings. I hope as you read you will be inspired to create your own list of blessings.
I praise God for:
The gift of love – that of my husband, family and friends and especially God’s love as revealed to is through Jesus and his death on the cross for my sins.
The beauty of creation. We have not long returned from a walk down by what people here refer to as a lake but it is actually St Georges Basin. For the serenity of the gently rippled expanse of water surrounded by mountains and trees.
The walkway that allows us to walk along the edge of the water and enjoy the pelicans, ducks, gannets and other wildlife that frequent the lake.
Good health and being able to go for a walk and conversations with my husband as we walked.
Our two dogs that enjoyed the walk with us and the joy they give us. At one stage we never thought one of our dogs would make the move here as he was so sick but God healed him when the vet couldn’t.
The two kangaroos we encountered lounging in the bush on our way back from the shops.
Being able to put the washing in the washing machine before we left and come back to it all done, so all my I had to do was hang it out in the glorious sunshine and for my husband who helped me hang it out.
The color and beauty of our garden with its blue plumbago, purple irises, hot pink lilies, purple lasiandra, orange lily, pansies, pink and red camellias, azaleas and impatiens.
Also for fresh spinach, capsicums, broccoli and chili peppers growing.
That my husband loves gardening and maintains it and all I have to do is enjoy it.
The quiet neighborhood where we live and that we are in walking distance to shops.
An email this morning from a friend from the church and bible study group we used to attend before we moved and catching upon news.
Another writer who has asked for a copy of my new children’s book, ‘The Goanna Islaad Mystery’ to review, plus another children’s writer who has already read and enjoyed it and emailed to tell me so.
Being able to flick a switch last night when it turned cold and make the house warm and toasty.
That my husband and all our family are committed to and following God and living out Christian lives.
