And you thought you loved your in-laws…
Super soccer star David Beckham is putting other son-in-law’s to shame with his latest move to prove just how much he loves his wife’s parents.
According to new reports, the L.A. Galaxy star just presented his ultra-luxe mansion in Dubai to his mother and father-in-law as a token of his appreciation “for creating the woman he plans to spend the rest of his life with.”
I’m not sure if I should cry or gag.
Beckham reportedly bought the property for a mere $1.6 million in 2002 – but the waterfront villa, set on a palm-shaped artificial island, is now estimated to be worth a whopping $16 million.
Real estate records show the property remains in the 33-year-old soccer phenom’s name, but the keys to the home were given to Tony and Jackie Adams, the parents of his wife Victoria last week. Beckham also instructed them to redecorate as they wish.
The British newspaper the News Of The World, is reporting that both David and Victoria realized they would not be able to spend any time in Dubai so they decided to allow her parents to move in to the home there.
According to sources, the L.A. based Beckham’s wanted to give Victoria’s parents the mansion as a thank you for all they have done for their family.
Hmm… kind of makes you think twice about that cheese plate you got your in-laws for Christmas, doesn’t it?
Finally, love is in the air at the Disney movie studios.
The company that Walt built is showing a whole lotta love for movie hunk Orlando Bloom. According to Variety, the actor was just offered the lead role in Disney’s new Prince of Persia adventure trilogy, in a deal reportedly worth $40 million.
The 31-year-old star of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise reportedly beat out fellow Disney pretty boy Zac Efron to snag the deal.
The movie is an adaptation of the popular computer game Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time and will be directed by Jerry Bruckheimer. Filming on the first of the three movies begins in July in Morocco.
