Today, the market is flooded with various media options for children. One of the most exciting new collections to come along is called the Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe – Volumes 1 and 2. What makes these volumes so unique is that they were actually choreographed by a professional producer/director.
Rather than just another video children watch, these videos are interactive, meaning to each of the 30 nursery rhymes, children have the opportunity to learn various forms of dance to include hip hop, tap, and ballet. Each actor on the video wears a colorful costume while using a number of set designs to get children’s minds stimulate. Another interesting factor of these videos is the way in which they are filmed. For instance, rather than children watching faces, all the actors are filmed only from the waist down. The benefit here is the children having the opportunity to work on dancing moves.
In volume one, children are shown artistic rhythm, dance, and rhyme. Although colorful, the costumes are not too elaborate. In addition to helping children learn dance, this first volume is also putting the child’s mind and creativity to work. Now, in volume two, the video covers things such as basic tap step, beginner ballet positions, chapter selections, and repeat play. The costumes and steps in this second video are a bit more advanced a natural advance from the first video.
Most children love spending time dancing about to videos and with Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe Volumes one and two, you can take the concept one-step further by allowing the child to actually, learn dance. That means while having fun with great videos, kids are also being given the chance to learn a skill that could easily be taken on further in life. Then of course, rhymes of the videos teach the kids to recognize sound and words, again putting them at an advantage when they finally start attending school.
