October’s Reflections

I always enjoy sitting down to write about the reflections from the past month. It allows me to consider if I have really been growing in my faith in the Lord, or if I have remained stagnant over this period. As I sit down to write about October’s reflections the first thing I thought about was how quickly October flew by. It always seems that as we quickly approach the holiday season we get busier and busier. This chaos is a great reason to sit back and look at the past month and see how we have grown. I would like to share just a few things I have learned in the past month. In writing this blog I realized that I have not grown in knowledge of His Word as much as I should. However, I have learned things in some other areas. I would love to know how you have grown in your walk with the Lord.

  1. I have learned the importance of how you present yourself always in the world, whether you are at work, school, or worship. My blog entitled “The Grocery Store” is a great example of this point.
  2. Children can learn about God’s Word. Not only can children learn about God’s Word, they can actually memorize verses. I gave my children who I teach in Bible class several verses to memorize (and not just easy ones) and they impressed me. I learned to not be afraid to challenge the kids I teach in Bible class.
  3. I have learned that I need to have better self-control. I procrastinate way too much, I am slack on my promises (which is really bad), and I lack self-control in other areas (such as being lazy). As much as I desire to change my ways I have fallen into some terrible habits which I must overcome.

What have you learned in the past month?
