Courteney Cox is returning to her roots.
The former “Friends” star will be part of must-see TV this fall when she appears in a three-episode arc on the hit comedy “Scrubs.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, the former “Dirt” actress will play the new Chief of Medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital. Insiders say Cox’s character is being introduced to “ruffle feathers” on the show.
Lisa Ling is also on the move these days. The former “View” co-host and current special correspondent for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and the National Geographic Channel is adding yet another line to her ever growing resume—“Nightline” reporter.
Execs at ABC News just announced that Ling will be contributing a series of reports for “Nightline” beginning this week. Her first report, on luxury retirement living, airs tomorrow night. Other segments will include a look at the heroin epidemic in Middle America and efforts to end the drought in America’s southwest.
And speaking of moving… TV’s “Wheel of Fortune” will be spinning some serious cash when it returns for its new season this fall.
According to show producers, when the popular game show begins its 26th season on September 8th, players will be competing in a new Million Dollar Bonus Round. A $1 million wedge will be in play through the first three rounds. If players land on the spot, solve the puzzle and advance to the bonus round without hitting bankrupt, they will have a chance to spin the bonus wheel for a top prize of $1 million in cold hard cash.
Finally, if you want to be one of the first to see the much anticipated Heath Ledger flick “The Dark Knight” when it opens in theaters on July 18th you’d better reserve your tickets now.
According to reports, the much-anticipated Batman film has already sold out in cities across the country from New York City to Los Angeles. Online ticket source Fandango says there are sold out for opening day. And not just in major cities such as New York and Chicago, theaters in Boise and Colorado Springs are reporting that seats for midnight shows have gone so fast that they must continue to add 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. show times. And the movie isn’t even scheduled to open for another week.
The late Ledger, who died last January from an accidental drug overdose, plays the Joker, while Christian Bale plays the Caped Crusader.
