Who doesn’t like to arrive home, open the door, breathe in, and say, “Ahhhhh!”? Wouldn’t it be great if every area of our homes always smelled fresh and clean? Unfortunately, there are some odors, even everyday odors, that we must combat. From gym socks and pets to cooking odors and closed up areas such as under the sink there are going to be things that smell and the smell may not be appealing.
There are plenty of cleaners that have nice fragrances and there are also plenty of home air fresheners and fabric refreshers like Febreze. There are also some other simple, inexpensive ideas you can implement to keep you saying, “Ahhhhhh!”
Have you ever thought of using those little air fresheners for the car inside your home? They tend to be affordable and easy to use and many have a powerful, good scent. While a Stick Up might be perfect for a closed up area such as a high, infrequently used cabinet, those long lasting canned gel air fresheners for the car work great too. Open the vent on the lid of the can to obtain the desired strength.
What about those little pine tree shaped air fresheners? They are available in many fresh scents, not just pine. You can usually pick up a two-pack for around a dollar or two. They are also long lasting. Slip one over an empty hanger and add it to your bedroom closet, hall closet, or slip one over the interior doorknob of your linen closet.
Another fresh idea isn’t really new. While many of us did not grow up using sachets, our moms, aunts, or grandmothers probably did. You can make a very simple sachet by slipping some potpourri inside a new nylon knee-high and tying a knot in the end. Slip it inside a drawer or hope chest. For more scented ideas, click here.
