Like most of the country, we have been having our share of wintry weather here in the Pacific Northwest. While it may not be the snow and ice that has blanketing parts of the country, it is still rather unsavory and fun to go out and about in it. These are times when I feel quite glad to be working from home—no commuting or having to dress to battle the elements!
In fact, I can stand on my covered porch in my stocking feet or wearing slippers and watch as the storms blow, or I can look up from my desk to get an update on what is going on with the weather. I do NOT have to worry about finding my umbrella or getting all dressed for the weather in order to embark on a commute to work, or a meeting or some other work-related activity. I don’t have to worry about whether my hair and/or make-up will hold up until I get to work, or whether I have good shoes to wear for getting to work before I can change into more appropriate ones at the office. When I think back on all the extra time I had to spend worrying about whether or not I was prepared for the weather—I think it is great to be cozied up at home to work!
I do not mean to imply that a home business is “better” than a more traditional type of employment, but it is nice to think over the different things to be thankful for. Not having to get “duded” up to go out and stomp through puddles or plow through snow, or deal with great gusts of blustering wind are definitely realities to be grateful for when one is counting the “pluses” of operating a home based business.
