Online Resources for A.D.D.

There are a lot of online resources that can be found that can provide information about A.D.D.. There are blogs that provide links to articles about medication, social issues, and A.D.D. related news articles. There are websites that have factual information. There are magazines devoted to the subject of A.D.D., and even some quizzes that you can take to help determine if you have it.

ADDitude
This is a magazine about “living well with Attention Deficit”. You can access the articles online, or subscribe and have the magazine sent to your home. They provide factual information about A.D.D. such as diagnosis, symptoms, myths about A.D.D., and helpful information about medication and alternative treatments. Part of their magazine has articles about school related issues, including study skills, social skills, information on IEP’s and more. Parents of children with ADHD can find many helpful articles as well. There is a particularly interesting article about “The Importance of ADHD Support Groups”.

PsychCentral
This website has an online quiz that you can take to help you determine if you are someone who has A.D.D. It just takes a few minutes to complete, and there is a shorter, 6 question, form of the quiz as well. The website suggests that this quiz can be used to help a person decide if seeking out help from a mental health professional would be useful. It is not an official diagnostic tool. It is more of a helpful guideline. I took this quiz myself, and my result said that I have a mild form of A.D.D., which pretty much confirmed my own suspicions.

ADD ADHD Blog
This is the internet blog of Doctor Kenny Handelman. He writes a new blog post several times a month, discussing information relevant to A.D.D. There is a lot of writing involving medication, including using it as a form of treatment, safety concerns and warnings, and information about new drugs. There is also a lot of parenting information to be found on this blog.

Adult ADD Strengths

While this blog focuses more on adults with A.D.D. Than children who have it, there are still a lot of useful resources on it that can be relevant to both groups. Find links to helpful books at the side of the page. This blog mentions news articles that relate to A.D.D., and includes information and commentary. The writing is interesting, and the blog is easily searchable.
