Patrick Henry College has a New Dual Enrollent Program

Patrick Henry College, a college founded by the same people who founded the HSLDA is now offering high school Juniors and Seniors the opportunity to earn dual enrollment credits online. This is a smooth move the HSLDA as more and more homeschoolers get cautious about paying for “insurance” that is actually being used to fund agendas that we may or may not be crazy about.

The college level/ AP classes made available to homeschoolers can be used at Patrick Henry College for credit and at other colleges as well. However, homeschoolers should double check to make sure that that credits for the classes they plan to take will be accepted at the colleges they hope to attend.

Another benefit promised by Patrick Henry College to homeschoolers is that humanities will be taught from a Christian viewpoint. For many Christian students who have not had worldview training this can be invaluable. The question is, however what schools will accept these classes as college credits and which will not.

Other selling points for using Patrick Henry College for AP/ Dual enrollment classes are they re more accepting of homeschoolers, and the course is considerably lower than it would be if your child actually attended the college.

To find out exactly what classes are available for high school students to take for double credits you can go to the Patrick Henry College website.

This is one of several choices that homeschoolers have when it comes to choosing AP courses. We also have an extension of our local college right down the street from our home, so our plan was for my son to take dual enrollment classes in person. However, if we do have a problem with getting the classes we need locally, we may consider this or other online options.
