There were two reality star weddings recently. The Velvet Teddy Bear, Ruben Studdard, married his girlfriend Surata Zuri McCants last Saturday at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL. More than 300 guests attended the wedding, all dressed in black and white. Ruben and his 20 groomsmen wore black tuxes while the bride wore a white and ivory Casablanca wedding gown. After the 30-minute ceremony, the newlyweds left for the reception at the Rosewood Hall at SoHo Square in Homewood. Not that anyone should mistake Paris Hilton for a real movie star, but the truth is she did reportedly sign her name on expensive wallpaper (yes, folks apparently she does know how to spell her name)… and now she’s paying the price for it. Well, this explains a lot… Ever since Dennis Quaid’s newborn twins were accidentally given a near-fatal overdose of the blood thinner Heparin by staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last fall I (along with millions of others) wondered why the actor chose not to sue the hospital for negligence. Bill Cosby is at it again. The comedian turned actor turned activist isn’t mincing words when it comes to addressing problems in the black community. This time Cosby is comparing the negative activities going on in the African-American community to “dirty laundry that needs to be washed, not ignored.” The 70-year-old author made the comment at a community college and a mostly black church in suburban Cleveland a few days ago.
