Parents and TMI

left

Want to know what happens when parents can’t control their loose lips?

Turn on the TV or surf the World Wide Web and see the backlash Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Ryan Lochte’s mom–a.k.a. the queen of loose lips–is enduring right now.

Not that she cares.

But, hey, I do… and so do millions of others of parents who are often tempted to spill TOO MUCH INFO about their offspring with family, friends, and (sometimes) perfect strangers.

Shortly after Ryan made history at the London Olympics, Ike Lochte told NBC that her golden boy gets around… and not just in the pool.

“He goes out on one-night stands,” Lochte’s mom explained.

TMI?

The general consensus? A resounding Y-E-S.

In fact, you know you’ve crossed the TMI line when sex expert Dr. Ruth Westheimer takes to social media to express concern about your decision to go public about your kid’s bedroom antics.

Dr. Ruth spoke for a nation of stunned parents when she tweeted the following:

“Mom as a wingman? Really? Doesn’t she want him to find a girlfriend?”

Actually, I don’t think Ryan Lochte has a problem finding a girlfriend. In fact, I’m pretty sure his mom was saying that he has a new one every night. It’s the keeping part that he seems to struggle with.

Apparently, that’s a problem for Dr. Ruth. The former TV sexpert couldn’t keep her thumbs to herself and shot off this next tweet regarding Ike’s loose lips and Ryan’s loose pants:

“Or maybe she was warning the girls away so they wouldn’t get broken hearts?”

Or maybe Dr. Ruth wasn’t really worried about broken hearts, as seen in her last tweet:

“Hopefully, Mr. Lochte, who wears rubber cap while swimming, wears a rubber somewhere else during all these 1 nite stands.”

So, let that be a lesson to you parents. Before you start shooting off your mouth and revealing your kid’s secrets to the world, you may want to put a sock in it.

Or in Mr. Lochte’s case… a sock over it.
