Parents in the News: They Did What?

Feeling guilty about the 10-minute ear-piercing tirade you treated your rule-breaking teen to this morning?

Don’t.

After reading what the following father exposed his child to, your long-winded diatribe may seem like a gift to your kid in comparison:

DIET FROM HELL

Who knew Satan’s real name was Bob?

According to police in Las Vegas, Robert “Bob” Blue, has got a lot to learn in the parenting department.

The Sin City father allegedly chained his 15-year-old daughter to her bed because he felt she was overweight. Police say Blue used shackles to keep his child out of the kitchen and away from food.

According to police reports, the teen was chained to her bed for nearly two days while her 53-year-old father beat her with a wooden stick and kicked her. When officers arrived at the Blue home, they found the girl bruised and in tears.

When questioned by police Blue admitted to chaining his daughter to the bed with a padlock and chain after he found pea and corn containers in her room. The demented dad said his 165-pound daughter had found a way around the chains on the pantry and refrigerator over the past month, and he couldn’t think of another way to stop her from overeating.

Father Blue also revealed to police that he was “upset” because he wanted his daughter to weigh between 140 and 145 pounds, explaining that was her fighting weight in mixed martial arts.

As if the beatings weren’t bad enough, loony bin dad reportedly defended his actions to Las Vegas cops, saying that he didn’t think he had committed a crime; rather Blue maintained that he was acting in his daughter’s best interest.

In what may be the understatement of the year, one of Blue’s neighbors described the disheveled father as “pretty sick, demented, mean and horrible.”

Blue was charged with false imprisonment, child endangerment and child abuse. Police wouldn’t confirm whether or not Blue’s wife knew what was going on, though I would think that the shackles would be hard to miss.

As for the rest of Blue’s kids, they were placed in protective custody after he was hauled off to jail.

By the way, Blue reportedly told the arresting officers that he used to hit his children with a stick as a training tool. Oh, and he does have a prior history of child abuse. Surprise, surprise.
