Well, you didn’t expect her to go on Larry King looking like she just spent 23 in jail did you? Oh wait. That is the reason Paris Hilton is appearing on the CNN show tonight.
It’s been more than 24 hours since the hotel heiress strutted out of the Century Regional Detention Facility wearing tight jeans and $300 stilettos. Twenty-four hours later and any hope that the party princess had a major ego adjustment as a result of her time behind bars seems to be fading. The first sign that the celebutante’s stay in the slammer hasn’t readjusted her priorities—the string of beauty experts making house calls to the Hilton residence. According to TV’s “Access Hollywood,” a hair stylist was at Casa de Hilton for three hours tightening and adding new, 20-inch extensions to the blonde reality TV star. In addition, a make-up person reportedly showed up pushing a cart full of cosmetics.
Besides the visits from beauty experts, Hilton received deliveries from bakeries (one reportedly brought in a white frosted cake with the words “Welcome Home” written on it) and multiple florists (among the floral deliveries a bouquet of pink hydrangeas, yellow lilies and pink roses valued at $200).
So now that she’s been primped and has pigged out what comes next for Paris?
One post-jail opportunity – teaching. According to news reports, The Learning Annex has offered Paris $1 million to teach a one-hour class on “How To Build Your Brand.” Believe it or not, it’s an authentic offer. The million-dollar speaking fee is reportedly the second highest ever offered, right behind The Learning Annex’s star instructor – Donald Trump.
Then there’s the whole issue of the “new Paris.” You know the one Hilton promised Barbara Walters she was going to introduce to the world after she was sprung from the pokey. (“I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute,” Hilton told Walters a few days into her jail stint.) While she was incarcerated the 26-year-old former jailbird also told Walters that she wanted to be a better person by increasing her charity work. On the millionairess’ to-do list: building a transitional home to help her fellow inmates upon their release from jail and helping raise money for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis research, diseases that struck her grandmothers. She also wants to open a Paris Hilton Playhouse for Children.
To help reshape her image, Hilton has reportedly enlisted a popular and highly successful crisis management expert whose former clients include Rush Limbaugh, singer R. Kelly and drummer Tommy Lee. Some say the experts’ number one challenge will be keeping Hilton’s “monster ego in check.” We’ll have to see how much damage control he’ll have to do following Hilton’s live appearance on Larry King tonight.
