Patrick Swayze Renews Wedding Vows

Cancer-stricken actor Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi are still in love with each other after 30 years of marriage and they wanted the world to know it.

Well, perhaps not the entire world, but certainly their close family members and friends.

So the couple did what millions of married folks do each year—they renewed their wedding vows during an intimate sunset ceremony in New Mexico.

Only unlike most couples the Swayze’s return trip to the altar was tainted with a touch of sadness. Reports say the actor, who is battling pancreatic cancer, wasn’t sure if he was going to live long enough to celebrate his 33rd wedding anniversary on June 12th so he and his wife jetted off to their New Mexico ranch earlier this month to declare their love for one another in a private ceremony attended by a small group of close relatives and pals.

According to the Globe, the actor continues to fight for his life as he undergoes treatment for cancer that was discovered earlier this year.

Sources tell the tabloid that the “Ghost” star is “refusing to give up, but right now he’s living for today.”

The source added that the vow renewal ceremony was something Swayze had wanted to do for a while and his cancer diagnosis pressed him into action.

According to insiders: “It was very important for Patrick to express his love and commitment to Lisa. They both mean the world to one another.”

The Globe also revealed that the actor has updated his will to include plans for his own funeral, and he has settled all his professional and private affairs – just in case he suddenly loses his cancer battle.

The tabloid also reports that the “Dirty Dancing” star is continuing to undergo treatment in Stanford, California, but close friends say the future doesn’t look too bright for the movie star.

One alleged Swayze pal told the Globe, “It’s deadly serious. Doctors have told him that if or when the cancer spreads to his brain he has two weeks to live.”

How the Globe got Swayze’s “friend” to reveal such private information about the star remains to be seen.
