PayPal $15 off $30 Purchase

Google Checkout is turning up the heat on PayPal. With its ease of use, good customer service, and the $10 off promotion during Christmas, it made some substantial gains very quickly. I love Google Checkout and have had nothing but positive experiences with them. I consider PP a necessary evil.

PayPal is striking back, though. (Don’t you love good competition?) From now through March 31, spend $30 at an eligible merchant and receive $15 deposited into your PayPal account by May 28. If you shop on eBay, it is included as a PayPal merchant as long as the seller’s account is a business account (takes credit cards). Personal accounts for sellers do not qualify for the incentive, though your account (as buyer) can be a personal one. You’ll need to use eBay checkout rather than just sending the money direct from your PayPal account.

You’ll need to register for this specific promotion, even if you already have a PP account. One offer per customer and you must use your primary email account. This is not nearly as good as the hot deal that GC offered during the holidays, which was one per transaction. But it’s PayPal, and anything to get something back from a company that takes so much.

One of my favorite companies, NewEgg, is on their list of approved merchants. If you missed the Superman keyboard and mouse deal, this is a way to make it even better. Sign up for the promotion, go and buy the keyboard and mouse. You’ll need to add something to make it reach $30, but then you’ll receive a rebate for $14.99 for the keyboard, $12.99 for the mouse, and the PayPal promotion of $15. Lay out ~$38 (including filler, tax, & shipping) and get $43 back. Love this kind of deal!
