You know something is seriously wrong with your life if you prefer sleeping on hotel beds rather than your own.
Of course, if you are a loyal guest at Westin properties then you might be on to something.
Or, in something… something out of this world.
Westin’s luxury Heavenly Bed is legendary in the travel industry, and now you can get one shipped to your home.
Last week the hotel announced that it cut a deal with Pottery Barn to begin selling the world-famous mattress.
Yes, the hotel industry’s most popular bed can now be a staple in your humble abode.
Starting tomorrow you can purchase the innerspring Heavenly Bed mattress on Pottery Barn’s website. Then, in January, you can buy the bed directly from one of the store’s 192 North American locations. In addition, you will still be able to shop for the mattress at select Nordstrom stores. Until now, only Nordstroms that had home sections carried the mattress. You can also buy the bed on Amazon.com and Westin.com.
Regardless of where you buy the cushy bed, expect to dig deep for the chance to sleep on air. According to Westin big wigs, the Heavenly Bed, which comes in sizes from twin to California king, will set you back between $1,200 and $1,800.
Winter sleeping never felt so good.
Of course, you don’t want to snooze away the entire season, especially when there are so many winter festivals to visit.
Right now the countdown is on to the Fire and Ice Winter Fest in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.
The annual event takes place from February 3 to 5, 2012, and is the perfect elixir for the winter blues.
Highlights of this year’s festival include the Polar Bear Float, where folks brave the icy waters of the Portneuf River in inflatable tubes. There’s also the Running of the Bulls, which features bikini and Speedo clad racers trotting down Main Street in boots and slippers.
On the fire side, look for a mountainside torch parade, chili cook-off, and a chance to luxuriate in the town’s 112-degree mineral hot springs.
