Does your pet have a vibrant personality? Does it seem like your pet has as much fun dressing up in a Halloween costume as you do seeing him or her wearing it? If so, you should enter your pet in the PETCO costume contest. There are over $1,000 in prizes, just waiting to be won!
For many people, Halloween is a fun holiday. Pet owners can dress up their pets in cute, scary, or downright amusing costumes, just for fun. Of course, it is helpful if your dog or cat happens to like wearing “clothing”. I can’t quite decide what I think about Halloween costumes for pets. On the one hand, it is kind of a silly thing to do. I sometimes worry that the pet owner is having much more fun with the costume then the pet who has to wear it. On the other hand, nothing is cuter than a dog running around all excited, happily dressed up as a hot dog, or a spider, or in some other Halloween costume!
If your pet happens to enjoy being dressed in costume, you might want to enter him or her into the PETCO Halloween costume contest. It’s called “PETCO Pets: Explain Yourselves!” To enter, take a photo, or better yet a video, of your pet dressed up for Halloween. Next, write a story about why your pet chose this costume. This is a chance for you to get really creative, as you write from the viewpoint of your pet’s “voice”. The photo and the story are required, the video is optional. Select from one of three categories to enter: Dog Costumes, Cat Costumes and Critter Costumes. Voting for the winners started on September 17. 2010, when the entries for the contest were first accepted. Voting will continue until Halloween, October 31, 2010. Winners will be announced on the PETCO website on November 5, 2010.
The contest is being sponsored by Old Mother Hubbard, a company that makes pet food. The first place winner for dogs gets a $200 PETCO gift card, an Old Mother Hubbard Prize Pack, and $50 in Old Mother Hubbard Treats. The second place dog winner gets a $100 PETCO gift card, an Old Mother Hubbard Prize Pack, and $25 in Old Mother Hubbard Treats. The third place winner for dogs wins a $50 PETCO gift card and $50 in Old Mother Hubbard Treats
The first place winner for cats will get a $200 dollar PETCO gift card, and an Old Mother Hubbard Prize Pack. The second place cat winner receives a $100 PETCO gift card and an Old Mother Hubbard Prize Pack. The third place winner for cats wins a $100 PETCO gift card. Winners of the critter category will get a PETCO gift card. First place wins a $250 one, second place a $150 card, and third place gets a $100 PETCO gift card.
