Pictures of Vehicles

Ladies and gentlemen start your engines. It’s time to take photos of your vehicles. Either get them with a family member in front of them or get a photo of the vehicle all by itself. For me the vehicles are not important but for other members of my family it is a real connection to their personality.

I did major photo sorting last year and found a group of photos of vehicles my brother in law owned when he first started dating my sister twenty plus years ago. They started dating about the same time I got my first SLR (single lens reflex) camera making his trucks frequent subjects of my photos. I knew the photos meant more to my brother in law than they did to me. I found some chrome scrapbook paper and threw together a mini scrapbook for him. When he shared the book with his own teenage son I knew we had a hit.

car Recently as we watched my husband’s slide show DVD he made several comments about the cars from his past. They hold a special place in his heart. He has always been a real car buff; he can quote technical specifications about every car he has ever owned. I am lucky to remember where I parked my car. My husband was excited to see the car his Aunt Jo drove when he was a little kid, the same car he bought from her years later. All of those are important memories for him.

Finding the items that are important to us now and documenting them for future generations is what it is all about for me. Sometimes the most unimportant things can mean a world of difference twenty years in the future. Chances are you won’t even own the same vehicle in five years. Photos of vehicles make great time stamps for photo documentation. So start your engines and take photos of your cars, trucks, mini vans and SUVs.
