It’s officially official… kind of… maybe…
Now that her divorce to Ryan Phillippe has been finalized it appears Reese Witherspoon is finally letting her guard down and confirming rumors that she and Jake Gyllenhaal are an item.
The actress has denied romance rumors for months, but new pictures captured in Italy clearly show Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal sharing intimate moments. Paparazzi caught up with the couple as they toured Rome following the European premiere of their new flick “Rendition.” (The two reportedly met during filming of the drama, though they don’t share a single scene together in the entire movie.)
The shots show Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal locking lips and hands, cuddling, canoodling and giving each other piggyback rides through the city’s cobblestone streets. Photographic evidence that the two are no longer “just friends.”
Prior to her divorce becoming official, Witherspoon, who has two young children from her 7-year marriage to Phillippe, kept her distance (at least in public) from Gyllenhaal. In fact, throughout the promotion of their new film the actress refused to pose for pictures next to Gyllenhaal. At the movie’s L.A. premiere, not only did the pair distance themselves from each other on the red carpet, they also refused to stand next to each other for pictures at the film’s after-party.
What a difference a set of finalized divorce papers makes…
