Pop Culture Pot Potpourri: Cheers and Jeers

CHEERS

Three cheers (if the rumors are true) for Kelly Osbourne, who has been the center of recent wedding buzz.

Reports say the 23-year-old daughter of Ozzy Osbourne will wed her boyfriend Luke Worrell some time next year.

Paps shot the former pop star turned reality TV star sporting a ring on her engagement finger, though she has yet to confirm reports of a pending union. She has, however, made no secret of her love for her 18-year-old model boyfriend.

Last month, Osbourne told reporters of Worrell, “We get on so well together. I really do love him. Every time we are in each other’s company, we always have a good time.”

British papers are also reporting that Osbourne recently took Worrell to Los Angeles to meet her mother, rock matriarch Sharon.

JEERS

BOOOOOOOO!

It’s not exactly the type of welcome Jessica Simpson was hoping to be greeted with while making her live country music debut in Wisconsin.

Yet, boos and jeers rang out across the Country Thunder USA Festival this past weekend after the pop star turned country crooner performed her new material.

According to reports, the 28-year-old singer failed to impress the crowds when she sang country covers including Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” and Shania Twain’s “Who’s Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?”

Concertgoers reportedly heckled Simpson’s efforts as a crossover singer from pop to the world of country music. Still, Simpson says she is still planning to promote her first country album, “Do You Know?,” which is slated to hit stores on September 9th.

CHEERS

Jennifer Connelly is planning to join some of Hollywood’s most gorgeous faces, including Halle Berry and Jessica Alba as Revlon’s latest cover model.

According to reports, the raven-haired beauty was recently named as the latest face of the cosmetics’ global advertising campaign. The Academy Award-winner says she was thrilled to be asked “to be part of a company that has done so much for women around the world.”

Connelly says she plans to use her new position to do a little good herself, by fronting Revlon’s philanthropic activities and charity fundraising.
