Hilary Duff was in diapers when Beverly Hills, 90210 was a ratings success.
Now nearly two decades after the popular teen drama hit the airwaves Duff could get the chance to make her mark on the show.
E! News is reporting that producers recently approached the 20-year-old singer-actress to star in the CW’s upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff.
Insiders say Duff is being considered for the role of Annie, the principal’s daughter at West Beverly Hills High. If she commits she would join Dustin Milligan and Nip/Tuck’s AnnaLynne McCord, who have already signed up to star in the show.
Former 90210 stars Jennie Garth has also reportedly been asked to join the new cast and original cast member Tori Spelling has expressed interest in signing on as well.
As for Duff, she hasn’t signed on the dotted line just yet. Currently, she is appearing in the indie film War, Inc. with John Cusack, which is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
THE QUEEN OF GREEN
I have always considered actress Natalie Portman as one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. But her looks weren’t the reason she was crowned queen for the day.
The “Star Wars” actress was recently named the “Queen of Green” and is being hailed as the most eco-friendly star in Hollywood courtesy of Grist.org, a eco-conscious website.
The site compiled a list of celebrities who go out of their way to care for the planet and Portman came out on top. The environmentally-friendly firm says the actress’ work to save gorillas in Rwanda coupled with her work as the face of a low-energy light bulb company and her involvement in the launch of her vegan shoe collection put her over the top and gave her bragging rights as the most eco-conscious celeb in the universe.
The site also recognized the “green” efforts of stars such Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt. In addition, it took time to single out a handful of A-listers who are not particularly environmentally friendly. Among the worst star offenders, according to the site, were soccer hunk David Beckham, for the amount of flights he takes annually; British model Elizabeth Hurley, for flying 250 guests to her 2007 wedding in India in multiple fuel guzzling airplanes, and the Spice Girls, for their excessive use of private jets.
