Pop Culture Potpourri: New Baby, New Pad, New Line

Mr. Big has a new role–Mr. Mom.

“Sex and the City” star Chris Noth is reportedly thrilled with his new title and even more pleased that his newborn son is healthy and happy.

According to Noth’s rep, the actor’s long-time girlfriend Tara Wilson gave birth to a baby boy in Los Angeles on Friday.

Orion Christopher Noth weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. and is the first child for both Noth and Wilson.

The couple met while Wilson was employed at Noth’s New York bar, The Cutting Room.

NEW PAD

Conan O’Brien also has reason to celebrate today. Not because he is adding to the family, though if he wanted to expand he certainly has enough room to do so now.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the late-night talk show host, who is expected to take over for Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” next year, just bought a new mansion on the left coast.

O’Brien is reportedly the new owner of a $10.5 million Brentwood, California mansion, which features six-bedroom suites in a gated compound. According to the paper, the comedian’s new pad has a massive master suite, which includes a sitting room, balcony and two bathrooms. The 44-year-old star’s new home also comes equipped with a screening room, a 1,500-bottle wine room, a pool, spa, library, 10-foot ceilings and six fireplaces.

NEW LINE

“Blame Ryan Seacrest!”

Apparently that is E! correspondent Giuliana Rancic’s new line. The newlywed is using it liberally as she shoots down rumors that she and her husband, former Apprentice star Bill Rancic, are expecting a child.

Giuliana says her fellow E! host is responsible for circulating the rumor on his daily radio show.

The entertainment news hostess doesn’t deny that she and her new husband (the couple got married in a lavish wedding in Italy four months ago) are trying to add to their family, but she denies that she has a baby on board right now.

Speaking at a weekend charity event Giuliana told reporters she is not upset with Seacrest for starting the rumor, but she says, “Now when I do get pregnant, no one will care.”
