Pop Culture Round Up: It’s Not What You Think

It’s not what you think, or so claims Mary-Kate Olsen.

The normally rail-thin actress says her baggy outfits are not signs that she is pregnant. Tabloids have been reporting that the former “Full House” star is expecting a child, but Olsen’s rep recently issued a statement saying: “Mary-Kate is absolutely not pregnant.”

Olsen’s fans criticized the publications for putting Mary-Kate on their covers and jumping to the conclusion that she was having a baby. The actress’ rep declined to comment on her client’s weight gain. However, if there was any doubt that Mary-Kate was not pregnant one would only have to peruse her new book in which she openly admits that she doesn’t want children.

In her new memoir with her sister Ashley, when asked if she wanted a family, Mary-Kate said, “I don’t feel the need to get married. But Ashley wants children. I’ll be a great aunt or godmother.”

Country crooner Tim McGraw is also going public telling fans that they shouldn’t put stock in recent reports that he is running for governor of Tennessee in 2010.

“There’s no truth to this,” McGraw’s rep tells PEOPLE magazine of the rumors sparked by an interview the singer did earlier this month in which McGraw revealed that he was considering a run for the gubernatorial seat. “It’s something he is interested in, but not for 2010. Later in life.”

In a separate interview PEOPLE did with Faith Hill’s hubby a few months ago, McGraw admitted that politics was in his blood and could be in his future.

“I’ve always been fascinated by what can be done in the public arena,” McGraw told the magazine. “And if the time comes where there’s something available and I think I can do some positive things, I’ll be glad to do it. I wouldn’t want to do it just to say I did it.”

Then again, stranger things have happened.
