Last week Mick and I had our first visit this year to the local school to teach the children about God and God’s rescue plan for a sinful world. It was one of those mornings where everything that could go wrong, did – from the dog being sick, to dropping things, cutting myself on a can, to not being able to find the map telling us which classroom we needed to go to. To add to the problems, that morning I had trouble for some reason posting my blog. All just minor mishaps that created hassles and slowed us down, leaving us feeling pushed for time,
‘You can always tell when Satan doesn’t want the work to go ahead,’ I said then.
Then yesterday I wrote about how Satan likes to interfere in God’s work and you guessed it, I got another practical example in my life.
Yesterday I was scheduled to read on radio from Kaleidoscope my poetry collection. What happened? I woke early with a headache and sore neck, and a cold that appeared out of nowhere though the voice was fine the night before when I was singing and practicing our music for church on Sunday. Add to that enough aches and pains to feel like I was coming down with the flu. Terrific!
Yes, I prayed for God’s enabling in my quiet time in the morning and I was encouraged by one of the songs I’d sung the night before that assured me, All Things Are Possible.
Yet, when I had a practice run through at home before the event I found my tongue kept tangling over words. However on the upside, I’d let family members, bible study group and online friends know what was happening so I knew I’d be covered by prayer. So I went, assured God would undertake. And undertake He did!
First I started to feel better as the cold and pains miraculously cleared up. When I read the first poem Bruise Bluee I was astounded at the presenter’s response to it. Straightaway she found a piece of music about homelessness that fitted in beautifully with this poem.I began to relax and the hour passed all too quickly as I read poems and talked about the inspiration behind them. This was interspersed with music.
Hopefully I’ll be able to get a recording of the poems up on my website so you can all have listen and praise God with me for the way He answers prayer and undertakes for His people. Despite Satan’s best efforts to disrupt God always is the victor.
