You can find plenty of resources online to help teach your child basic lessons. I always suggest limiting computer time to no more than one hour a day. The computer is a wonderful tool, if used properly, to engage your child and teach basic lessons. I use the internet all the time to look up lessons and solutions for all of my children from my preschooler to my teenager. Here is a list of some of my favorite online resources for preschoolers.
Online Preschool Lesson Sites
Starfall: Starfall is one of my favorite sites online for preschoolers. The pace is perfect for little ones to learn to grasp phonic through reading simple sentences. Starfall has added a section to print out materials to enhance the online lessons.
Kids Front: A wonderful resource for printables and lessons. Your child can color online, listen to stories and learn about rhyming. You will also find math and language exercises fit for preschool through Kindergarten age.
FunSchool: This site offers educational games for children in elementary school as well as preschool. The preschool sections offers fun arcade type games that teach math, science, ABCs, and more. The site has printable coloring pages as well. It truly lives up to the name.
Nick Jr.: Nick Jr. offers a large variety of learning games which feature your child’s favorite characters. The games have sound lessons and are fun at the same time. You can also find crafts, recipes, parental advice and weekly lesson plans.
Time 4 Learning: This site is not free but it provides quality lessons in an engaging manner. The site offers lesson to children from preschool to 8th grade. If you are concerned with Kindergarten readiness this site has a section that will equip your preschooler.
Internet time should be closely monitored by an adult at all times.
